Ukrainian violinist Oksana Protas received her musical education in her homeland, first at the Uman College of Music and later at the Donetsk Academy of Music. There she also completed her postgraduate studies. She has worked in symphony orchestras (Donetsk), opera theatre orchestras (Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk), is a regular member of chamber ensembles, and her repertoire includes works for violin and piano, as well as trios, quartets and quintets. O. Protas is a member of the Ukrainian Chamber Music Association. In recent years she has held the position of Concertmaster of the Dnipro Opera and Ballet Theatre, as well as performing solo works as a soloist with the orchestra, and is a frequent participant in various festivals. She also teaches at the Dnipro Academy of Music.
Since 2022, following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, Oksana has moved to Lithuania, working with the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra under the direction of G. Rinkevich, as well as continuing to perform in chamber ensembles with musicians from Ukraine and Lithuania.
