He is recognised as one of the world's foremost trumpet soloists and one of Norway's biggest international stars.
In the past few years he has performed with the London Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Polish National Radio Orchestra, the Szczecin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Osaka Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of London, the National Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan, the Rio Philharmonic, the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra, the Kyoto Symphony, and the Berliner Komische Oper in more than 45 countries. Audiences have given him a standing ovation at venues such as New York's Carnegie Hall, London's Barbican Hall, Tokyo's Suntory Hall, the Sydney Opera House, the Berlin Concert Hall, and even the Olympic stadiums of Munich and Seoul.
The trumpet star has collaborated with conductors such as Mariss Jansons, Wolfgang Sawallish, Philippe Herreweghe, Kent Nagano, Dimitry Kitayenko and others.
Conducting and teaching are also important areas of Antonsen's activity. His conducting career includes such ensembles as the Royal Danish Opera in Stavanger and Bergen, as well as a project with the World of Winds Orchestra. He has also taught music at more than 60 music academies and universities worldwide.
Norwegian's extraordinary musical versatility has led him to collaborate with the most famous classical ensembles as well as with pop, rock and jazz musicians, including John Milses, Mark King, leader of the British jazz band Level 42, Lisa Stansfield, Rickie Lee-Jones, members of Secret Garden, The Metropole Orchestra from the Netherlands, Willem Breuker Kollektief and many others.
