Orit Orbach has performed as a soloist with many orchestras such as the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Zubin Mehta, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the Israel Chamber Orchestra, the San Francisco Sinfonietta, the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the Hague Symphony Orchestra and the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra.
Orit Orbach has been concertmaster of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the Rishon le Zion Symphony Orchestra of Israel and the Haifa Symphony Orchestra's clarinet section. She has participated in many festivals, including the prestigious Marlboro Festival (USA), the Tanglewood Music Festival, the Neustadt International Chamber Music Festival, the Warsaw Jewish Music Festival, the Canberra International Chamber Music Festival, the San Francisco Jewish Music Festival, etc.
She has collaborated with many renowned musicians such as Shlomo Mintz, Daniel Barenboim, Yuri Bashmet, Raphael Wallfisch, David Sawyer, Michael Tree and Murray Perahia.
In addition to her active career in classical music, Orit specialises in Jewish music. For the past 20 years, Orit has performed around the world as a soloist and with various ethnic Jewish music ensembles, presenting a fusion of ethnic and classical music. These ensembles include Eve's Women Band, a highly acclaimed women's ensemble performing Jewish music in new styles such as jazz, rock, Middle Eastern and Balkan. Eve's Women combines a new style of jazz, ethnic Jewish music with a strong exotic feminine accent.
Orit teaches unique masterclasses for clarinetists and special workshops around the world. In addition to her unique clarinet playing technique, she has an excellent knowledge of klezmer music, and presents this style in a practical and engaging way for all instruments. After years of research, Orit has developed a very successful workshop on "stage fright", with amazing results.
Orit is also a conductor specialising in brass bands. Orit conducts the young orchestras of the Netanya Conservatory of Music and the Netanya Community Wind Orchestra, NCWO.
Great O. Orbach's career also includes adjudication in international competitions. She has adjudicated the Penderecki International Contemporary Music Competition in Poland, the Virgin Islands Competition, the International Spring Competition, the American-Israeli Cultural Foundation Competition in Israel, and the Paul Ben Haim Competition.
Orit graduated cum laude from the New England Conservatory of Music, and holds a Masters of Music degree from Northwestern University. She has won first prizes in the New England Conservatory Music Competition and the Northwestern University Concerto Competition.
