Pierre Calmelet was a French composer, pianist, and pedagogue born in 1895, and died in 1956. Calmelet was one of many composers to be awarded the Prix de Rome during the early years of World War I. His work encompasses both classical music and film music, and he also taught music courses at the conservatory.
