A talented flautist who started her musical career at the age of 6. She studied at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts in Vilnius, improving her skills with teachers L. Gailiūnas and Jona Janiukštienė. Since 2011, Polina has been taking regular private lessons with Prof. Valentinas Gelgotas, principal flutist of the Lithuanian National Philharmonic.
During her career Polina has won prizes at international competitions in Latvia, Poland and the Netherlands. In Lithuania, she won first prize in the competition-festival "Music without Borders" in Druskininkai in 2009 together with her brother Piotr Chistovas. She also took part in the republican competitions of woodwind instruments of J. Pakalnis and A. Budrys.
Polina has been continuously improving her skills by taking part in courses in Germany with Prof. Andrea Lieberknecht, as well as by studying with Rune Moist, William Bennett, and Jacques Zoon.In 2017, she performed a solo piece with the St.
In 2018 Polina graduated from the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts and entered the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, where she continued her studies with Prof. Valentinas Gelgotas. In 2021 she took part in the Erasmus exchange programme at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid and in 2022 at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in Israel. Polina is currently studying at the Vigo Conservatory of Music in Galicia, Spain. After completing her bachelor's degree in classical flute performance, she is also studying solo singing.
In addition to classical music, Polina is interested in various styles and performs music with Arabic-Spanish motifs and improvisations. She also experiments with electronic music, collaborating with DJs to create combinations of flute and techno music.
