Raimondas Šalaševičius was born in 1955 in Ariogala. Member of the Folk Artists' Union since 1992. Participates in exhibitions since 1980. Organized 8 author's exhibitions. Participated in 25 joint regional, republican and international folk art exhibitions. Participant of creative seminars in Russia, Latvia, England.
R. Šalaševičius's work is dominated by native landscapes, the life of rural people, mythological and realistic compositions. The painter's works are distinguished by an optimistic mood, warm colors, complex perspectives of distances. Characters in genre compositions are depicted from unexpected angles, expressively. The author is able to compose in chamber and larger exhibition formats.
