Rakelė Chijenaitė started playing the violin at the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, and later continued her studies at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre with Professor Undina Jagėlaitė and Associate Professor Rūta Lipinaitytė-Savickienė. She spent a year at the Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Academy in Leipzig, where she studied with Professor Mariana Sirbu.
Rakelė Chijenaitė is the winner of various national and international competitions. As a soloist and performer in chamber ensembles, the violinist has taken part in masterclasses of Petru Munteanu, Peter Shumayer, Rainer Schmidt, Stephan Picard, Johannes Meissl, Gordan Nikolic and other professors.
As a soloist, Rakelė Chijenaitė has performed with the Vilnius St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra conducted by Modestas Barkauskas.She is a member of the Vilnius City Chamber Orchestra "Mikroorchestra" . As a member of the orchestra and a performer of chamber music, she actively performs in Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. This year, the chamber ensemble performed at the Konzerthaus Berlin and the Seoul Arts Center.
