Pianist René Marines Lechuga begins his studies with teacher Marcela Battaglia, with whom he studies for 7 years (2008-2015). He is currently in his tenth semester of music studies at the Faculty of Music of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, in the department of Dr Antonina Dragan.
He has won prizes in important international competitions: First Prize in the Music Without Borders Competition (Russia); Honourable Mention in the American Protegé Piano and Strings Competition 2017 (New York); Second Prize in the competitions "Music of the Eighteenth Century", "Music of the Nineteenth Century", "Best Beethoven Performance" and "Best Mozart Performance" (London); First prize in the US International Open Music Competition (San Francisco) in the Baroque, Classical and Contemporary categories, as well as second prize in the Romantic Music category; First prize in the Piano in Palace 2019 competition (St Petersburg, Russia) in the Soloist with Orchestra category. He has also won prizes in national competitions such as the National Competition for Young Pianists "Parnassós" (Monterrey) in 2009 and 2012, and the Competition "Jóvenes Virtuosos" (Monterrey) in 2015, 2016 and 2018,
He was invited to participate in the International Cancun Music Festival in 2014, 2016 and 2019, and also took part in the Oxford Piano Festival 2017 and in the Festival/Competition "Piano in Palace 2019" in St. Petersburg, Russia. He has studied with renowned pianists such as Sergio Alonso, Idil Biret, Michael Bulychev, Vitaly Pisarenko, Dmitri Rachmanov, Leonel Morales, Jean-François Latour, Eduardo Orozco, Alexander Paley, Skirmante Kezyte, Pavel Nersessian, Alexander Yakovlev, Peter Lowell, Alexei. Chernov and Alexei Khevelev.
With the orchestra, he has performed 2 times with the UANL Chamber Orchestra and the Piano in Palace Festival Chamber Orchestra. As a soloist he has performed at the Tetro Universitario UANL, the Aula Magna de Colegio Civil, the Tetro de la Ciudad (Mexicali), the Auka Concert Hall (Mexicali), the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall (New York), and at the House of Composers (Russia). ) and Marble Palace (Russia), among others.
