Accordionist, composer, teacher, was born in Roseto degli Abruzzi (Italy) and studied standard bass accordion with Maestro Aldo Rampa and free bass with Maestro Vittorio Pomante from an early age and then graduated in jazz piano at the CPM in Milan with the great pianist Franco D'Andrea. Specializations: “Film Music” with Maestro Ennio Morricone 1991, “Jazz Accordion” with Frank Marocco 1995, with Adriano Mazzoletti 1996, with Richard Galliano 2000, “Jazz Harmony” with Umbero Fiorentino 2002, “Arrangement and composition for big band jazz” with Mario Raja 2001.He is the leader of projects ranging from Solo to Symphony Orchestra, with which he has performed over 2000 concerts all over the world (Russia, USA, China, Brazil, Mexico, Germany, Spain, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Switzerland, Scotland, Slovakia, Canada, Ireland, Iceland, England, Holland, Belgium, France, Lithuania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Albania, Ukraine, Turkey, Belarus). He has performed on prestigious stages such as the Arena of Verona, Shanghai Grand Theater, Teatro Ariston of Sanremo, Gnessin Hall of Moscow, Teatro Olimpico of Vicenza, White Hall of St. Petersburg, Teatro dell'Opera of Rome, Rostov State Musical Theater .He was the first accordionist to create completely improvised CDs with the “Solo Accordion Project” and was artistic director of important festivals such as the Pineto Accordion JF, the Dolci Romori JF, Fisarmonica d'Oro Fest and the prestigious Premio Internazionale di Castelfidardo ( PIF). He is currently at the Italia Award Festival of which he is also the creator. The collaboration with Maestro Peppino Principe was fruitful and in his biography he named him his artistic heir. In 2007 he arranged the album "Souvenir d'Italie" by the famous performer Antonella Ruggiero with whom he performed at the prestigious Sanremo Festival and with whom a stable collaboration was born that still lasts today. In 2009 he was awarded the "Golden Voice" award by the Castelfidardo International Festival, previously awarded to Richard Galliano, Gorni Kramer, Astor Piazzolla, etc. In 2013 he received the "Silver Disk" from the prestigious Gnessin Akademy in Moscow. Since 2014, the cast of his right hand has been among those of the greatest accordionists in the world in the "International Museum of Accordionists' Imprints" in Recoaro Terme (VI). His CDs "Inni d'Italia and "Collection" won the prestigious Orpheus Award as the best CDs of the year for Jazz accordion. He has participated in over one hundred productions, CD publications, DVDs, compositions and educational texts. He has also written incidental music for theatrical works including “Il Ratto di Proserpina” by R. San Secondo (Teatro Greco-Romano di Taormina, 1997), “La Leggenda del Fiore di Lino” by Stipo/Del Giudice (Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, 2001 ) and “Van Gogh and Tutankhamen” by Marco Goldin (Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza, 2013) and many other works.Renzo is one of the first accordionists to publish and create modern teaching for jazz accordion. He has taught in the conservatories of Cosenza, Teramo, Castelfranco Veneto, Nocera Terinese and held international seminars (from Canada, Russia, USA, China, etc.). His students have won the most important international competitions (CIA, CMA, PIF, Primus Ikaalinen, Italia Award, etc.) and many already carry out teaching, concert and recording activities. He teaches advanced modern and jazz accordion courses at his Accademia Musicale Voglia d'Arte which includes a recording studio and the Voglia d'Arte Production record label.
