1954 graduated from Klaipėda Music School (
K. Griauzdė choir conducting class). 1954-62 studied (with a break when he served in the Soviet army and played in a military orchestra) at the Lithuanian Conservatoire (graduated from
E. Balsis class). 1959-61 Pianist of the Lithuanian Radio and Television Light Music Orchestra, 1961-66 Artistic Director and Principal Conductor. 1966-72 sound director of the Recording Studio of the Lithuanian Radio and Television Committee, 1972-77 editor-in-chief of the Radio Recording Editorial Office. 1978-82 Conductor of the Vilnius City Association of Orchestras and Ensembles, 1982-90 Artistic Director. 1990-93 Editor-in-Chief of the Lithuanian Radio Music Editorial Board, lecturer at the Lithuanian Academy of Music (until 1992 the Lithuanian Conservatoire).
1980, 1985 Music Director of the Lithuanian Song Festivals Dance Day. With orchestras, ensembles and soloists, prepared (often edited, orchestrated), performed and recorded Lithuanian and foreign music; participated in Lithuanian radio and television broadcasts, author's concerts of Lithuanian composers, state festivals, festivals in Lithuania, Poland.
