Rimvydas Savickas, a clarinetist, studied at the Skuodas School of Arts in the class of teacher Bronius Anužis. When he won the laureate title in the Juozas Pakalnis competition, he was invited by Prof. Algirdas Burdulis to study at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts. Later, R. Savickas became a laureate of republican and international competitions under the guidance of Prof. Burdulis in Finland, Ukraine, and Latvia. R. Savickas earned a bachelor's degree at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in the class of Prof. A. Burdulis, and spent six months perfecting his craft at the Royal Danish Academy of Music under Prof. Jørgen Jensen. He played in the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra for a year, was a member of the Baltic Youth Symphony Orchestra for two seasons, and won the international competition "Jūrmala 2008" in Latvia. Savickas has performed as a soloist with the Klaipėda State Musical Theatre Symphony Orchestra, the State Wind Instrument Orchestra "Trimitas," the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra, and the Youth Symphony "Steiermark/Litauen" Orchestra. He also taught open master classes at the Klaipėda Stasys Šimkus Conservatory. Savickas was awarded an educational scholarship from the Lithuanian Council for Culture in 2009. At that time, R. Savickas earned a master's degree at California State University, Fullerton, in Los Angeles, where he studied with internationally renowned clarinetist Håkan Rosengren. Savickas participated in the "Nepaklusniųjų Žemė" festival from 2015 to 2017, and currently teaches at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts. He also leads master classes there and abroad, at universities such as the Royal Danish Academy of Music, the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, and the Vigo Conservatory in Spain.
