Rita Novikaitė studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. She received a Master's degree in arts from the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, which was awarded by Prof. Rosamarie Schmied and KS, Prof. Joanna Borovska. In addition, the singer also studied at the G. Verdi Academy “Accademia Verdiana”, which was founded by the Arthur Toscanini Fund. Rita Novikaitė has created numerous roles in theaters in Austria, Italy, and England, such as Marcelina (W.A. Mozart's "Figaro's Wedding"), Rosina (G. Rossini's "The Barber of Seville"), Magdalena (G. Verdi's "Rigoletto"), Bogumilas (C. Millöcker's “The Beggar Student”), Orlovsky (J. Strauss's “Die Fledermaus”), Suleika (F. von Suppé's “Fatinitza”), Mother (G.C. Menotti's “The Consul”) and Judith (A. Vivaldi's “Juditha Triumphans”) among others. The singer also performs songs of the "Lied" genre, chamber music and oratorio parts (G.F. Handel's “Messiah”, G. Rossini's “Stabat Mater”, W.A. Mozart's “Requiem”, G. Verdi's “Requiem”, A. Bruckner's “Te Deum”, G.B. Pergolesi's “Stabat Mater”, A. Vivaldi's “Stabat Mater”, L. von Beethoven's “Missa Solemnis” and Symphony No. 9, F. Liszt's “Christus” etc.). The soloist has participated in festivals and concerts in Austria, Germany, Italy, France, and Belgium. The singer's performed parts have been recorded on CDs (A. Vivaldi's “Gloria”, W.A. Mozart's “Requiem”, L. van Beethoven's “Missa Solemnis”), she has also recorded “Weihnachtslieder” ("Christmas songs") and F. von Suppé's “Fatinitza” released in Austria, and CD's “Lapkričio sapnai” and “Nel Contrasto” recorded in Lithuania. Her performed works are stored in the radio funds of ORF in Austria and Lithuania. From 2005 to 2011, Rita Novikaitė lectured at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and became an associate professor at the Prayner Conservatory of Music and Applied Arts in Vienna from 2007. The singer, who joined the largest university in Lithuania this September, now teaches at the Vytautas Magnus University's Music Academy and leads masterclasses.
