Roberto Russo graduated from the Geneva Conservatoire, studied with pianists Jörg Demus and Fausto Zadra, and studied German Lied with pianist Peter Schreier. His career as a pianist began in 1985 and he has performed in Argentina, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, France and other international venues. His concerts have been broadcast on RAI TV (Italy), Vatican Radio, Tuscan Classical Radio, as well as on Houston Public Radio (USA), Argentine Television Radio, and Svizzera Italiana Radio.
Roberto Russo also studied composition. He studied with composers Italo Vescovo and Silvano Sardi and later with Domenico Bartolucci. His works have been performed in Italy, Denmark, Great Britain, Poland, the USA and elsewhere.
Roberto Russo currently teaches at the G. Frescobaldi Conservatoire of Music in Ferrara, organising courses, giving lectures and masterclasses. He is also a member of the New York Classical Music Organisation, Piano Music Week (piano music festival and summer school in England) and ArtePiano, an international festival and piano competition in Italy. In 2012 he was awarded the title of Steinway Artist.
