Rolandas graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Vilnius University in English. Interned at the All-Union Training Institute for Cultural Workers in Moscow, London's Royal Academy of Drama (RADA), London's National, Edinburgh's "The Traverse" and Scarborough's "Stephen Joseph" theaters. 1978-1986 worked at the Opera and Ballet Theater editor, taught general literature at Vilnius University. in 1986 moved to Palanga.
Participant of many international cultural projects and conferences, consultant of art festivals (Bona Biennale, contemporary art festival "Nowa Litwa" in Gdansk, international theater festival "Kontakt" in Toruń, etc.). 1989-1990 "Revival", 1993-2003. "Lietuvos ryto", 2003-2004 Akiračių (Chicago) and 2005-2015. "Business Class" columnist. Represented Lithuania and gave presentations at international symposia in Poland, Ukraine, Italy, Germany and Sweden. As a creator and performer of reading performances, he participated in international literature and contemporary art festivals in Berlin, Ghent, Perigo, Stockholm, Kyiv.
Member of the Lithuanian Writers' Union - since 1990.
