Rūta Rinkevičiūtė was born in Vilnius, Lithuania, into a family of musicians: her father, Gintaras Rinkevičius, is the artistic director and chief conductor of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, and her mother is a choir conductor.
At the age of 13, Rūta made her debut with the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra.
In 2002 Rūta graduated from the M.K.Čiurlionis School of Arts (piano class of Petras Geniušas). In 2007 she graduated from the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in Moscow and is currently a postgraduate student of the Conservatoire (in the class of Xenia Knorr).
R.Rinkevičiūtė is a laureate of international piano competitions in Greece (Konzerteum of City Makropoulon, 1999) and Italy (2000).
She performs in concerts with various symphonic orchestras in Lithuania and abroad, takes part in festivals, music forums. Her repertoire includes works for piano solo and with orchestra by J.Haydn, E.Grieg, F.Chopin, P.Tchaikovsky, F.Mendelssohn, S.Rachmaninov, S.Prokofiev.
