He graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2003. He also won the Acanthus Music Award and the NTT Docomo Award. He completed his graduate studies at the same university in 2005. As a soloist, he has performed concertos with the Tokyo New City Orchestra and the Tokyo University of the Arts Philharmonia. In addition to his solo activities, he is also active as a member of "Chanchiki Tornado", the saxophone quartet "Strike", "Quartet Spiritus", "Tokyo Chu-Tei-I", and "Yasuaki Shimizu & Saxophonettes".
