Sarah Baltzinger began contemporary dance at the age of 18. Initially dedicated to a professional career in law, she decided to devote herself to her love of the arts by starting self-taught training. She began her professional training at the Le Ban des Arts school while pursuing a university course in the management and administration of artistic and cultural structures. In 2010, she joined Peter Mika's young ballet in Girona (Spain). She completed her training at the age of 20, dancing and learning alongside great names in contemporary dance such as Olga Cobos (principal dancer Rui Horta), Elena Fokina, Jordi Cortes, Peter Milka and Russel Malliphant. Sarah began her professional career very early. Subsequently, she joined the Helka Company, directed by Helder Seabra (assistant to Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Wim Vandekeybus), two of the great representatives of the Belgian contemporary international scene. She plays the one and only female role in the creation. "When The Birds Fly Low, The Wind Will Blow" (2014), which then toured Belgium, Germany, Italy and Portugal in 2015. She also joined the London company Wayne Parsons Dance Company in 2017 for the creation of the show "Vestige" in which she plays the main role, a piece that has been touring since. In parallel with her career as a performer, Sarah Baltzinger leads her own choreographic work as a choreographer and performer of her own creations between Luxembourg and France, which has placed her in a cross-border anchoring since 2016. She regularly teaches at TROIS C-L - Luxembourg Choreographic Creation Center as part of continuing professional training and more occasionally at the National Conservatory of Luxembourg and in Esch-Sur-Alzette. In 2016, the City of Metz, the EPCC Metz-En-Scènes and TCRM BLIDA commissioned her for a choreographic solo in connection with Digital Arts. She collaborated with Lozange Lab’ and Paradigme Visual Arts for a hybrid form that will play at the Constellations Festival twice (2016 and 2017) and will subsequently tour in France, Europe, Morocco and Israel. She created the show “FURY” in 2017, which is a landmark work on the Luxembourg choreographic scene. Supported by the TROIS C-L and the Kinneksbond Cultural Center in Mamer, Sarah Baltzinger collaborated with many artists from the Luxembourg scene for the creation of this “large-scale show, led by a master hand that does not let go from beginning to end”, as quoted in the Wort Luxembourg. This creation is broadcast and co-produced by the Trois C-L, Luxembourg Choreographic Creation Center and the Kinneksbond, Mamer Cultural Center. It is a real public success during its creation. In addition, the creation is also supported by the Arsenal, Cité Musicale-Metz, a prestigious structure of the Greater Region. It is also programmed at the Theater Freiburg and once again meets with unanimous success during its presentation. In 2018, she was selected by the Théâtres de la Ville du Luxembourg to participate in the TALENTLAB program. Accompanied by the Peeping Tom Company and its choreographers Gabriella Carrizo and Franck Chartier, Sarah Baltzinger surrounds herself with two quality performers, Alessio Sanna and Theo Samsworth, as well as the musician Guillaume Jullien, with whom she has collaborated for many years in order to carry out choreographic research on the theme of heritage.
