Saulius S. Lipčius is an active performer, pedagogue, docent of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater. The guitarist plays not only the classical guitar, but also the "Liuto forte", unique in Lithuania. The musician participates in various concert projects and is a member of different ensembles.
Saulius is the fourth generation musician in his family. Constantly growing up in a musical environment, he became interested in the guitar at the age of 12. Until then, he studied playing the piano and choral singing at the "Ažuoliukas" music school. in 2008 completed his master's studies at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater (prof. Julius Kurauskas' class). Saulius is a laureate of various international and national competitions.
The guitarist actively performs together with various musicians, actors, ensembles. Since 1998 for many years he played music with his father, the cellist of the M. K. Čiurlionis String Quartet. in 2007 Saulius S. Lipčius, together with the famous Lithuanian actress Virginija Kochanskyte, released a poetic-musical CD "Romansero ľeľanų klaikui" in 2011. his first solo CD "Guitar Temptations" also appeared. Since 2017, the performer has been a member of various early music ensembles, with whom he performed at the festivals "Baroko pavasaris Biržai", "Marco Scacchi's early music festival", "Banchetto Musicale" and others.
Since 1999 the performer performed in the most important halls of Lithuania and abroad - in Latvia, Poland, Germany, England, Denmark, Russia, Norway, France, Spain, Sweden, Estonia. At the age of 19, he made his debut in the prestigious "Purcell room" of London's Southbank center, where he performed a two-part recital. Saulius S. Lipčius also actively participates in the country's festivals: "Biržai", "Pažaislis Festival", "Big Music Parade", "Tytuvėnai Summer Festival", "Kristupos Summer Festival", "Young Music", "Palanga Summer", "Music Autumn" ", "Vilnius Town Hall Guitar Festival", "Gaida" and others. The guitarist is often invited to participate in various national and international competitions. Saulius also receives invitations to perform premieres of composers' works, his recordings are also played on Lithuanian Radio.
Since 2004 Saulius is an active guitar teacher, his students are laureates of national and international competitions. The guitarist is an associate professor at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, teaching classical guitar and chamber ensemble since 2008.
