Seri Dan grew up in Seoul, Korea and started playing the piano at the age of 7. Around the age of 11, her piano teacher noticed that she also had a talent for singing, so she began taking piano and singing lessons at the same time. The following year, Seri won a classical vocal competition in Seoul. After graduating from elementary school, she decided to focus solely on playing the piano and entered Kaywon High School of the Arts. She received her BA with full marks from Kyunghee University under Prof. Hyo-Sun Lim and received a full scholarship.
in 2016 Seri moved to Germany and started studying piano with prof. Alfonso Gómez and Tamara Stefanovich at the Freiburg School of Music. She first met Chris Garfitt at this university and they collaborated on several concerts and recordings. After receiving her Master's degree with full marks in three graduation recitals, Seri entered the Mannheim Conservatory of Music to study Korrepetition with Chiaki Ohara.
From 2018 together with Kris Garfitt, she regularly organizes Duo Recital Tours in England and Germany, and also accompanies Kris in several major trombone and music competitions, such as the ARD Music Competition in Germany, the Royal Overseas League Music Competition, the Jeju International Music Competitions and the IPV. In the trombone competition, where he won all the first prizes.
Seri plays chamber music projects and regularly accompanies the German Radio Philharmonic Orchestra on piano. From 2020 she works as a collaborative pianist and chamber music assistant at the Hochschule für Musik Saar, Saarbrucken, Germany.
