in the year of 2018 she received her bachelor degree in Painting in Vilnius Academy of Arts, Kaunas Faculty, Lithuania. In 2017 she deepened her knowledge in the Royal Academy of Arts, The Hague, The Netherlands. She is represented by “Meno Parkas” gallery Kaunas, LT/Düsseldorf, DE. Sonata Riepšaitė became a member of Lithuanian Artists’ Association in 2020. From the year 2015 she is an active participant in group exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad and in 2019 presented her first solo exhibition “Thinking the Landscape” in Kaunas, LT. Her works were representing Lithuania in art fairs in Verona, Italy and twice in Berlin, Germany. She currently lives and works in The Hague.
Sonata Riepšaitė's work is characterized by a strong and mystical drawing in charcoal. By using mostly monochrome colors, she creates an atmosphere of silence and a calm, melancholic, contemplative mood. In painting practice, she is most interested in the landscape genre, philosophy and the subjective relationship to a landscape.
