Tuomo Palonen's medieval alter ego. Previously known for his psych-folk album heard on Now-Again Records, BBC DJs and Shindig! Magazine, Palonen (or Ignatius) has now embarked on a brand new adventure - exploring a parallel universe where medieval melodies and synths converge.
2022's Thomas Ignatius will take you to a very special place, where the Middle Ages meet the mid-1970s. On the album, the artist used two early digital synthesizers - a Casio CZ-101 and a Yamaha PS-6100 - as a sonic foundation, and wrote the lyrics in Latin.
The album, which has been compared to artists such as Popol Vuh, Dead Can Dance and Enya, was released by Palonen's own Palatsi label and distributed by Clear Spot International. The aim of this album, as with all Palatsi albums, is to recreate the sound of an era of music.
