Urte Jasenka

 Urtė Jasenka (b.1993) is an artist of the younger generation, she studied at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, later on she studied and graduated from Manger folkehøgskule in Norway in 2014, majoring in music and vocals. While still at school, the artist formed a unique style, a minimalist "world" full of symbolism, details, repetitive elements, natural motifs, stories, thoughts, feelings, beauty, wonder, light, but at the same time darkness, sadness, fragility, mysticism and suffering. The author speaks not only of the light but also of the darkness of human nature. Observing her surroundings, the people around her, herself and her own life, Yasenka "accumulates" a lot of experiences and stories, and after thinking it over, she leaves the most important thoughts on a piece of paper. "To be here and now, to enjoy what is given - good or bad - with all my heart is the meaning and freedom of life", says the young artist.Since 2009, U. Jasenka has been actively creating and organising collective and personal exhibitions not only in Lithuania, but also abroad (Norway, Germany, Italy). Currently, she lives and works in Klaipėda.
