Urtė Krutkevičiūtė, born in 2007 in Klaipėda, is currently a student of Klaipėda Vydūnas Gymnasium. Her interest in music was formed at an early age, from piano studies, vocal lessons in choir and ensemble class to music reviews and folk music analysis.
Urtė's carillon journey began in the autumn of 2022, when the first session of the Discover Carillon programme organised by Klaipėda Concert Hall started together with her teacher, the Gdansk city carillonneur Monika Kazmierczak. Urtė believes that this programme was a great opportunity to broaden her musical horizons, discover new and interesting instruments and incorporate her other artistic interests into her arrangements.
Although she is still a student at the gymnasium, Urtė is convinced that her path after school will continue to be related to music. The carillon instrument helps her to maintain and nurture her love of music, while gaining knowledge of music theory and practice.
