Lithuanian painter, 1956-1962, studied at the Art Institute of the USSR. Since 1962 he has been teaching at the M. K. Čiurlionis Gymnasium of Arts, since 1988 at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, since 1995 he has been an associate professor. Since 1964 member of the Lithuanian Artists' Union.
Created a series of paintings (portraits of cultural figures), etchings and stage designs. One of the most famous assemblage artists in Lithuania. He was influenced by Dada and Surrealism, and uses the schemes of classical art works. The main character of the works is an oxymoron constructed in the form of a human figure. The work is characterised by allogical combinations of motifs, a rough fantasy, and a high, slightly ironic drama. Some works are characterised by political allusions. Member of the group "24".
Since 1962 he has participated in exhibitions and held 15 individual exhibitions. His works are owned by museums in Lithuania, Russia, Poland, the USA, as well as private collectors in Lithuania and abroad.
