Ukrainian cultural scientist, art theorist, teacher. Doctor of Art History (2015). Member of the National Union of Theater Workers of Ukraine (2000). Born on November 30, 1959 in the Lviv region. In 1970, the family moved to the city of Sumy. After graduating from high school, he studied at the Philological Faculty of the Sumy State Pedagogical Institute (now the Anton Makarenko Sumy State Pedagogical University; 1976–1980). He taught in a rural school (1980–1981). He served in the Soviet Army (1982–1983). He worked as a methodologist at the Sumy District Department of Public Education (1983–1992). In 1992–2001. held the position of senior lecturer of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of the Sumy Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education, then taught at the Sumy State Pedagogical University named after Anton Makarenko (2001-2021). In 2001, he defended his candidate's thesis on the topic "Opera in Ukrainian and Russian Culture of the 19th-20th Centuries" in the specialty 17.00.01 - Theory and History of Culture (supervisor: Maryna Cherkashyna-Gubarenko, Doctor of Art History, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine). In 2015, he defended his doctoral thesis on the topic "Specifics of the Interaction of Artistic and Non-Artistic in the System of Theater Communications" in the specialty 26.00.01 - Theory and History of Culture (scientific consultant - Nelly Kornienko, Doctor of Art History, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Director of the Les Kurbas National Center for Theater Arts). 2018—2021 — Associate Professor of the Department of Social Work and Management of Socio-Cultural Activities of Sumy State Pedagogical University named after Anton Makarenko. 2021 — Professor of the Department of Directing and Actor's Skills of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the magazines "Green Lamp" (1996—1999), "Pedagogical Sumy Region" (since 1995). Chairman of the jury of the All-Ukrainian Theater Festival "Chekhov-Fest" (since 2013). Member of the organizing committees and participates in many international, all-Ukrainian, regional conferences, exhibitions, symposiums and other scientific events in the country and abroad. Initiator and organizer of the scientific and artistic forums "Around Semper: Synthesis of Arts in European Culture of the 19th—20th Centuries" (2003)[2], "A. P. Chekhov and his work in the socio-cultural space of the 20th-21st centuries" (2020, 2021). Member of the Academic Council at the Les Kurbas National Center for Theater Studies (Kyiv).
