I am Virginijus Malčius - video artist, animator, painter, I write and illustrate children's books. I graduated from Šiauliai University (now Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy) with a Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Art, and from Vilnius Academy of Arts with a Master's degree in Photography and Media Art. Currently I combine drawings and photography, wood sculpture and animation. It's all like visual poetry, nostalgic film shots. Characters emerging from the past. Fields drowned in the blue of snow. Absent portraits of men, women, children, animals. Harsh architecture of buildings. A sea drowned in itself. Recently, like many, I have been deeply shaken by the wars that have broken out nearby. The ruins of houses, the wreckage of cars, the grey landscape, the useless streets and the emptiness.

It is not the first year that the author has been analysing and reflecting on consumer culture in his video material.
