In 1980 he graduated from the M.K.Čiurlionis School of Arts with a degree in painting. For a year she worked as a teacher at the Obeliai Art School. Returning to Šiauliai in 1988, she graduated from the Šiauliai Pedagogical Institute (now VU Šiauliai Academy), where she gained a specialty in drawing, art and art teacher.
For many years she worked as a method teacher and senior teacher of technology at the Šiauliai city Gegužiai Progmnaziumnasium, which is known for its strong art education.
Since 1995 V. Žabarauskaitė has been a member of the Lithuanian Artists' Association. The Lithuanian Ministry of Culture granted her the status of an artist.
She started exhibiting during her studies and has held over 100 solo exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad (Australia, France, Italy, Denmark, Latvia). Her works have been acquired by collectors in Austria, Germany, the USA, Israel, Poland and Lithuania.
She is characterised by her rich colours and ethnographic paintings. Important works include "The Seasons", "The Great Verba", the cycles "The Way of Christ's Passion", "Autumn Moods", "Skrynios. "Chests", "Chests of Treasures", "Covers", "Chests of Treasures", "Chests of Treasures", "Chests of Treasures", "Chests of Treasures". Window Shutters", "Nušvitvitimas", "Piece for Mechanical Piano", "Gingerbread", "Niveliacija", "Stebuklingosios Nilso podróżosios" (Nilso's Wonderful Journeys), "Lietuviškos fabos" (Lithuanian Fairy Tales), etc."
She wrote poems, illustrated her own poems and had her own poems published in the press.
