VINTAGE SONGS. In it, the performer Neda Malūnavičiūtė, together with the instrumental ensemble 4TANGO, will cover old, well-known songs with new arrangements and harmonies.
Vintage songs - selected masterpieces of the old Lithuanian pop, arranged especially for the 4TANGO quartet and performed by Neda Malūnavičiūtė's voice and flute (works by B. Gorbulskis, M. Novikos, L. Vilkončiaus, M. Vaitkevičiaus, T. Makačinas, A. Kulikauskas). It is not pop, but more theatrical or chamber-sounding pop classic, approaching the aesthetics of singing poetry. These are melodies resurrected to a new sound from a time when real poets wrote lyrics and real composers wrote music. The songs born a few decades ago captivate with the lyrics of sensual, but not sentimental poems, which speak metaphorically about longing for love, and the warmth emanating from them is a counterweight to the brilliance of today's cheap popular music.
The word "vintage" is closely associated with history and denotes retained value. The name was first used by winemakers to describe old wine, and later adopted by fashionistas. Thus, vintage - "returned from the past" and revived in today's life - maintaining a balance between what is new and relevant today, and between what was created a few decades ago and tested by time.
