"White Fairy Tales" is a shadow theater performance based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales. Having chosen this rare nowadays genre of puppet theatre, the director Nijolė Indriūnaitė (she is also an actress of the "Lėlė" theater and the author of several plays) and the artist Aušra Bagočiūnaitė Paukšienė have created a transparent and bright performance, reviving the traditions of Lithuanian and other European nations' paper cut-outs.
N. Indriūnaitė used three H. Ch. Andersen's Christmas tales for her poetic play: "Margaitė su degtukais", "Eglutė", "Senis Besmegenis". In a lyrical shadow play, the director asks the audience what the holiday is and what it means to us. We all understand the holiday in our own way... And how does a lonely little girl survive the holiday and cut down the forest Christmas tree?
