Presentation of current creators is one of the main tasks of the Lithuanian Symphony Wind Orchestra, so the abundance of premieres is characteristic of this festival as well. This year we chose composers whose music is dominated by the sound of percussion instruments. For this program, the Lithuanian Symphony Wind Orchestra is joined by the well-known Giunter Percussion ensemble - one of the leading percussion ensembles in Lithuania, performing a diverse and wide repertoire. In the background of the sound of percussion instruments, a colorful timbral and textural diversity unfolds, which is demonstrated by the composers presented in the program. Larsson Gothe's MacchinAria is a dizzying toccata of extreme concentration and virtuosity. The concert will also feature the premiere of a work by Lithuanian author Linas Rupšlaukis and one of M. Ravel's most famous works - "Bolero". Admittedly, it's more than Bolero, as Philip Sparke's arrangement adds more soloists alongside the traditional drum solo to enhance the effect of the ever-growing climax, which is why this version of the piece is called Bolero+PROGRAM:LINAS RUPŠLAUKIS - Work (premiere)ALFRED REED - Variations on a theme from Wagner's PorazziPHILIP SPARKE - The Year of the DragonLARSSON GOTHE - MacchinAriaMAURICE RAVEL - Bolero + (arr.
