"Snieguolė"(Snow White} is a play by the brilliant stage performance creator Gintarė Minelgaitė (Dr. GoraParasit), in which she reflects on the global problems of our planet using the classic fairy tale of the Brothers Grimm. According to the artist, Hollywood interpretations have greatly distorted this tale and made it culturally insensitive. Minelgaitė rewrote the story of "Snieguolė" in her own way and turned it into an endless multiform, variations of the posthumanist world. The plot of the fairy tale intertwines with the themes of the climate crisis, glacier ecology, refugees and migration, racial hatred, and gender dynamics. The relationship between Snow White and the characters around her is examined through the prism of power dynamics, gender studies, expectations and boundaries imposed on people. Using modern stage technologies and using the aesthetics of advertisements, hyperlinks, computer disturbances, and computer games, the artist creates an impressive picture of the world affected by the diseases of the 21st century and warns that we have little time if we want to change something. It is an allegorical story that encourages viewers to reflect on human short-sightedness, its impact on the environment, review traditional gender roles, get rid of fears and start taking action.
