The collective's creative journey explores archetypal positions that shape social and cultural narratives. In Villain, the artists explore the figure of the villain - as a social construction, as a personal experience and as a critique of societal marginalities. The villain is not only a character, but also a symbol representing the darker sides of human consciousness and social structures. The works in the exhibition embody this complex, from inner struggles related to personal experiences of guilt, fear or destruction, to cultural phenomena that romanticise or demonise the concept of 'evil'. The artists use a variety of media, distorted fantasies and personal confessions to create a space in which the viewer becomes a witness to an inner thought form. The exhibition invites us to look at "evil" as a reflection: what role does society assign to this figure, how is it shaped and what powers are attributed to it? In this process, the villain becomes a tool not only of criticism but also of irony, revealing our own moral limits and norms. It is an attempt to open up the debate on what we call "villain", from literary and cinematic characters to the decisions we make in our daily lives, which sometimes go beyond the moral boundaries. "Villain/Villain explores the relationship with thoughts and behaviour. The works depict destruction or "sins" and look for their causes: disillusionment with authority, self-hatred, the inner struggle against moral dictates. The exhibition will be open until 13 December at the Akademija Gallery (Pilies st. 44/Latako st. 2, Vilnius).
