The more technology takes over our daily lives, the more we become distanced from our own bodies. As the world is created and unfolds in our minds, our heads, our eyes, we forget and stop thinking about another essential part of us - our physical body. For it is only the body, together with the mind and the spirit, that makes the human being as a complex whole. Of course, we can talk about the cult of the body - an exaggerated focus on appearance, but in the dance performance "Bodies" by Marius Pinigi and Adrian Carlo Bibiano, the focus will be on the body as an instrument that can speak and express the inner thoughts of a person.
The dance performance "Bodies" is not based on a play, there is no dramaturgical line, it becomes an idea: bodily communication is irreplaceable. This idea raises the question of how to awaken the bodies, how to enable them to speak again? On the theatre stage, actors usually convey their ideas in words, which we take as a reflection of the intellect. This time, the performers are reclaiming the forgotten language that lies within each one of us. Ten different generations of actors enter into tests and discussions about the shared energy and changes that take place when communicating. After all, dance is not just an attribute of a young person, it does not stop at a certain age and, even more so, it is not only for professionals.
Choreographer Marius Pinigis says: "I think that in any style or genre of performance it is not always necessary to justify actions logically, because there is more irrationality than rationality in our daily life. If we look into our own minds, we would not find a smooth linear thinking, so "Bodies" consists of image-based scenes, open to the interpretation of the observer. The dancers make references rather than specific situations and solutions."
"Bodies invites you to immerse yourself in the visual, not to overload your head with the search for meanings and meanings, and even not to be afraid of not understanding.
