"Macbeth is a story about the loss of love, faith, peace and power. Macbeth's world of manipulation and deceit traps young and ambitious people who are striving for their goals and looking for a formula for success.
Even those who seem to have all the qualities and abilities necessary for success suffer and fall victim to their own inexperience, ignorance, naivety and the power hidden in the world around them.
The cruel world of Macbeth, where truth is manipulated and love becomes an instrument in the struggle for power and authority. But Macbeth's world is also today's world. It is a world where indifference to one man's tragedy is masked by ever newer and more cunning ways. In such an 'empty' world, everyone is condemned to loneliness.
Power is the only currency here, and it dishonours and defiles love, truth and goodness...
"Macbeth is the tragic story of fallen heroes who could have shone, but who failed and became apathetic victims of the times and their own power.
The performance is included in the Cultural Passport Services programme.
