One of the most famous žemaitsians, the first Lithuanian historian, writer and educator Simonas Daukantas (1793-1864) wrote not only his most famous work "The way of ancient Lithuanians, mountaineers and žemaitsians", but also the short story "The Life of Rubinaitis Peliūze", which is not an original work, but very free translation of the book "Robinzonas Jaunesnysis" by the German author Joachim Heinrich Campe adapted to the Lithuanian environment.
S. Daukantas renamed Robinson Crusoe to Rubinaitis Peliūze, London to Karaliaučius, Thames to Nemunas. Disobeying his parents, Peliūze sails out into the world in search of "notia" (adventure) and finds them to his heart's content, when the ship sinks, all his passengers perish, and he himself is washed to the island by the waves.
The creators of the show relied on both works of S. Daukantas, so the audience will have the opportunity not only to find out what fate awaits the character stranded on an uninhabited island and his new friend Nedėldienios (i.e. Friday), but also to discuss the way of survival of ancient Lithuanians.
Four object theater actors will not only acquaint the audience with the ancient Lithuanian world view, language, household, difficult survival at the mercy of the elements, will allow them to touch mythological themes, but will also involve them in the drama of the relationship between parents and children of one family. After all, we start saving such values as respect, trust and love especially when we feel how easy it is to lose them.
