Vilnius and New York are two cities with their own culture. It is both a distance spanning two continents, between which many cities, countries, cultures and personalities emerge, and an immense treasure trove of music. Chamber music lovers tenor Mindaugas Zimkus and pianist Paula Gudinaitė invite listeners to travel through the near and far, familiar and undiscovered horizons of music in the programme "From Vilnius to New York". From the vocal music of Lithuanian composers close to the heart and the ear to the distant, but no less attractive, works of composers from the United States of America, without bypassing the heartfelt and intimate sounds of Italian and French music.
Tenor MINDAUGAS ZIMKUS is a prize-winner in international competitions, having received the Grand Prix prizes in the S. Barr Male Voices (2001) and the Vocal Chamber Music Beatrice (2011) competitions.
