Composer, creator of interdisciplinary art, Arturas Bumšteins, with his new work "The Story of One Sound II", continues the search for the synergy of theater, sound and video art, which he started in 2020, when he presented the experimental sound performance "Urbančičius Method" based on the Austrian writer Thomas Bernhard on the main stage of the Youth Theater. the novel "Limestone".The artist's new stage work is not based on the author's interpretation of the literary text, but on the biographies of the actors of the Youth Theater Troupe, personal experiences etched in the memory of the play's author, discoveries inspired by the theater space, and the polylogue emerging between these elements of the play's dramaturgy.
On stage, we observe the faces of seven actors floating in the air, in the form of helium balloons, talking to each other about sound, hearing, its corporeality and ephemerality. The biographical stories of the actors turn from monologues into polylogues and are pierced by one of the sounds coming from the basement, which determined the fate of the parents of the author of the play, says A.
