Russian rock band of Belarusian origin, formed in the 1980s in Babruisk, Belarus. This is one of the most successful groups in Russia. Bi-2 in 2007 was awarded the MTV Russia Music Awards for the nomination of the best rock group.
Group Bi-2 was formed in 1989. In Babruisk (Belarus) after Shura (Aleksandras Umanas) and Liova (Igoris Bortnikas) met at the Minsk children's drama school "Rond". in 1988 the band was originally called "Bratja po Оружию" ("Братья По Оружию"), after a few months the name was changed to "Bereg Istiny" ("Берег Истины"). 15 people (including in the show band) were included in the unstable line-up. For the first big concert of the group, which changed its name to "Bi-2" (Берег истины – 2), in 1989 the soloist was Liova. Since 1988 until 1990, Bi-2 toured Belarus at various festivals.
Shura moved to Israel in 1991, and Liova a year later. In 1992, Bi-2 took first place at the Jerusalem Rock Festival.
In 1993, Shura went to Australia, where he later joined the band Chiron. However, the group's musical activities did not end. In 1997, they released their debut album Bespolaja i grustnaja liubov (Бесполая и грустная любовь), which was never sold due to the economic crisis in Russia.
In September 1999, the group took part in the Russian rock festival Maksidrom. In 2000, Bi-2 created the soundtrack for the movie "Brother 2". The movie song "Полковнику никто не пишет" sounded, which made the group famous.
The group often performs songs with other famous Russian groups and artists, such as Splin, Chicherina and Diana Arbenina. The inclination to joint projects led to the project Nechiotnyj voin (Нечётный воин), created at the end of 2005, in which Shura's uncle Mykolas Karasev offered to perform with well-known musicians, such as "Piknik", "Agata Kristi", "Nočnyje snipery", Brainstorm, SerGa, Linda . In 2008, he released the second album "Nečiotnyj voin".
