Dalia Dėdinskaitė, one of the country's foremost violinists, together with Walter Delahunt, an internationally renowned pianist who has performed with artists such as Marta Argerich and Gidon Kremer, presents Estrellita, a programme of music by the Vilnius-born, the most famous violinist of all time, Jascha Heifetz, with his colourful arrangements for violin and piano, works for violin and piano by the Lazdijai-born, violin prodigy and internationally acclaimed composer Joseph Achron, and the famous Lithuanian composer Anatoliy Shenderov, the 5th anniversary of whose death this year. This interesting and colourful programme of miniatures highlights the parallels between the art and life of the legendary personalities of Heifetz and Achron, the importance of Shenderov's work, and the "musical touch" of today's most outstanding performers to the works of three personalities with Litvak roots.
