Baritone Tomas Kildišius studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf with Konrad Jarnot, as well as in the Lied class of Prof. Hans Eijsackers. The singer devotes a large part of his creative life to the Lied genre, performing in Germany, the Netherlands, France and Lithuania. He has sung at the Krefeld-Monchengladbach Opera House and at the Deutsche Oper Rhein. He has been entrusted with the world premieres of works by composers Robert Holl, Wolfgang Abendroth and Dmitri Shchukin. In 2023, Tomas Kildišius released his debut album with Armenian pianist Ani Ter-Martirosyan, Johannes Brahms' song cycle The Beautiful Magellan. In October 2023, together with pianist Gustas Raudonis, Tomas was awarded the Grand Prix at the prestigious Nadia and Lili Boulanger Competition in Paris. In his concert programmes, Tomas expresses his creativity by finding unexpected connections between different eras and composers.
Prof. Hans Eijsackers is a Dutch-born pianist, who teaches chamber music at the Royal Academy in The Hague and at the Robert Schumann School in Düsseldorf, where he passes on his experience to the Lithuanians studying there. The pianist performs extensively with leading Lied singers in Europe, Asia and the USA. Hans Eijsackers' recordings have won a Grammy Award and a BBC "Best CD of the Month" nomination. Hans Eijsackers is Artistic Director of the International Student Lied Duo Competition in Groningen and the International Lied Festival in Zeist, and is regularly invited to masterclasses and competitions as a member of the jury.
