The exhibition features large-format early linocuts and cycles of linocuts by Mikšys, created in Detroit, Chicago and New York. Many of the prints are "letter graphics", remediations of folklore or texts by well-known authors, and images of letters. Also on show are some of the artist's most important works - a series of lithographs and etchings depicting the characters in the famous early 19th century German writer Georg Büchner's play Leonce und Lena. The etchings, created in Paris, are depictions of the cities of Paris and Venice, miniatures of refined aesthetics and monuments to poems. The etchings testify to the artist's extensive social contacts. For the first time, examples of mail art are presented, linking Mikšys with the Soviet Lithuanian artists Valentinas Antanavičius, Vytautas Kalinauskas, Vince Kisarauskas, Edmundas Saladžius, who defied the official art canon, as well as collages and the artist's glued books, which were often given to his closest friends as gifts.
