Palm Ring. Album Launch Concert - Lukiškių kalėjimas 2.0

Another fun event in our events calendar - the launch concert of the album "Story of Užuškara - the dragon who eats people" by the exceptional personality and extremely talented Palme Žiedas! For the first time, the songs, or rather the fantastic stories created by Palme Žiedas, will be performed on the big stage of the prison.

We are happy, congratulated and looking forward to the concert already on 4 June. The band "Vartai" from Vilnius will support Palme Žiedas and will draw the audience into a mystical world.

If there was an award for the best album title, it would surely go to "The Story of Užuškara - the Dragon Who Eats People".

No one can tell you more about the concept and the title of the album than the author, so here are his words: "I remember I was sitting on the bus and I looked out of the window and to my surprise I saw a giant green dragon flying through the trees.

One of my goals in making this album was to go back to my electric guitar, which I've been playing since I was 14, but also to introduce electronic sounds that I only discovered later. I think the fusion of these two worlds illustrates the physical and magical essence of the album."

We will be merging the physical and magical forms very soon at the Lukiškės Prison concert, and now we are listening to the eleven stories of the Palm Ring. Are they fictional or real? "Now that this work has even reached its physical form, I know that "The Story of the Dragon that Eats People" is not made up, but completely real", says Palme Žiedas.

The recording of this album was also played for the first time in Lukiskes Prison, at the preview screening we had. We are excited about this friendship with Palmės Žiedas and are getting ready for the live music experience!

The concert will be opened by Palme Žiedas' chosen experimental rock band Vartai. This name is probably not familiar to everyone, but the concept of their music is intriguing. It combines heavy guitar drones, thumping rhythmic patterns, monotonous vocals and an alternative approach to a folk instrument - the traditional dulcimer.

The ritualistic and deep music of Vartai is exactly what Palme Žiedo's calibre needs.

The conversion of Lukiskis Prison immediately became a piece of history, a cultural phenomenon and the most successful tourist attraction in Lithuania.
