Biografija
Katerina Estrada Tretyakova is an experienced opera singer with a successful career performing on some of the most important stages throughout Europe. Katerina was born in Russia, but grew up in Lithuania, where she studied choral conducting in Vilnius, which she completed with honors. Upon graduating, she continued her musical training, and in 2005 she received her Bachelor’s degree in Opera Singing from the Lithuanian Academy of Music, studying under the tutelage of Prof. G. Kaukaitė.
In 2006, as an Erasmus program exchange student, Katerina Estrada Tretyakova went on to study at the Mozarteum Universität in Salzburg, Austria. In the same year, she debuted as Hyacinthus in W.A Mozart’s "Apollo et Hyacinthus" with the prestigious Salzburger Festspiele. The renowned Deutsche Grammophon recorded a DVD of this production. Then, in 2008 she graduated with her Master’s Degree in Opera and received the Lilli Lehmann medal under the tutelage of Prof. J. Wallnig, KS E. Wilke, and B. Zakotnik. That same summer, Katerina was selected to participate in the "Young Singers' Project" at the Salzburger Festspiele, which culminated in a Gala Concert in the Mozarteum Grosser Saal where she sang under the conducting of Maestro Ivor Bolton.
From September 2008 until the summer of 2016, she was a soloist at the Hamburgische Staatsoper, where she had many experiences and opportunities onstage, often making main role debuts after only a few days of rehearsals. Katerina Estrada Tretyakova was awarded with the Dr. Wilhelm Oberdörffer Prize for best prospective young singer.
Her repertoire includes many roles, such as: Gilda in Verdi's "Rigoletto", Lucia in Donizetti's "Lucia di Lammermoor", Adina in Donizetti's "L'Elisir d'amore", Juliette in Gounod's "Romeo et Juliette", Pamina in Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte ", Susanna in "Le Nozze di Figaro", both Zerlina and Donna Anna in "Don Giovanni", Musetta in Puccini's "La Bohème", Adele in J. Strauss "Die Fledermaus", and Anna in Marschner's "Hans Heiling". Recently, Katerina’s performance as Regina in Hindemith's "Mathis der Maler" in a production at Theater an der Wien (TAW) conducted by Maestro Bertrand de Billy came out by NAXOS in both CD and DVD formats.
One of Katerina’s most acclaimed roles is Violetta Valéry from Verdi's "La Traviata", which she has sung at Berliner Staatsoper (Unter der Linden), Hamburger Staatsoper, Lithuanian National Opera and Balley Theater (LNOBT), Deutsche Oper am Rhein and Srmperoper Dresden, having received great praise from the audience.
Katerina Tretyakova has sung on some of the world’s most prominent stages, including: Musikverein Wien, Konzerthaus Wien (especially her performance of a Russian romance recital), Theater an der Wien, Dresdner Frauenkirche, Semperoper Dresden, Oper Graz, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Seoul Arts Center, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Enescu Festival Bukarest, Royal Festival Hall in London, and Innsbrucker Festwochen (including a production of Teleman's "Flavius Bertaridus", as conducted by Maestro Alessandro de Marchi, which is available on CD), among others.
Katerina has collaborated with a variety of distinguished conductors, such as: Bertrand de Billy, Daniel Barenboim, Giampaolo Bisanti, Alfred Eschwé, Lawrence Foster, Alain Guingal, Alexander Joel, Karen Kamensek, Giorgio Morandi, Josep Pons, Roberto Rizzi Brignoli, Konstantin Trinks, Simone Young, and many others.
Katerina Tretyakova has also won many international voice competitions, such as the Francisco Viñas Competition in Barcelona, Spain (I prize), Grand Prix del' Opera Competition in Bucharest, Romania (I prize), the Montserrat Caballé Competition in Zaragoza, Spain (II prize), and the Marcello Giordani Foundation Vocal Competition in Catania, Italy (I prize).
