[email protected]The Youth Theater became the first creative home of director Eimuntas Nekrošius. Here, in 1977, he made his debut with the play "Taste of Honey". Later, he created the plays "The Cat Behind the Door", "The Square", "Pirosmani, Pirosmani...", "Love and Death in Verona", "A Day Long as Centuries", "Uncle Vania", "The Nose". They consolidated the phenomenon of "Eimunto Nekrošius Theater" and changed the theater world.
Eimuntas Nekrošius Theater was founded by his first teacher and the head director of the Youth Theater Dalia Tamulevičiūtė, playwright Saulius Šaltenis, painters Adomas Jacovskis, Nadežda Gultiajeva, composers Faustas Latėnas, Kęstutis Antanėlis and a dozen actors of the director's age. Documentary essay "Eimuntas Nekrošius. The beginning" is a reflection of that theater, with the help of photos and footage of the performances. If you look at the images captured by photographers Stanislaus Kairis, Audrias Zavadskis and cameraman Donatas Buklis, you can discover in them the "lost time" moments of Nekrošius' performances. When Anna was young, the theater seemed more real than the surrounding reality. A utopian effort to relive those moments…
Documentary essay "Eimuntas Nekrošius. Pradžia" was directed by Audronis Liuga, a theater expert and head of the Youth Theater. The creative collaborators of the project are editor Kostas Radlinskas and composer Arturas Bumšteinas.
