The play begins with the death of the kingdom's jester and a simultaneous wedding feast in an attempt to avoid war with another kingdom. Rejected and persecuted by creditors, Fantazius (actors Martynas Nedzinskas and Tomas Rinkūnas) becomes the king's jester by chance and thus changes the fate of the kingdom. The plot of "Fantazius" resembles a fairy tale: the princess (actress Miglė Polikevičiūtė) has to marry the prince assigned to her, she meets Fantazius - a charming, but poor and ignoble townsman. The characters of the play change clothes, change roles, constantly fall into situations of comical misunderstandings. But behind this fabulous surface lie universal human truths, timeless wisdom.The main character of the play, Fantasy, is a walking stick who cannot and does not want to belong to the "norm", who will always be "other": non-conforming, rejected, underestimated, misunderstood, different. Fantasy is a joker, whose thoughts can be laughed at, but which get stuck, "settled" in the head. It can be considered the prototype of the author Alfred de Musset himself. Fantasy wanders between contradictions: love and its denial, cynicism and sentimentality. He is a disappointed man, but like a true romantic, he longs for something that never was…
