The musical „Fire Hunt and Beaters“ by Giedrius Kuprevičius (libretto by Saulius Šaltenis and Leonidas Jacinevičius) was shown to the audience for the first time in Lithuania in the Youth Theater on February 28, 1976. Director – Dalia Tamulevičiūtė. The musical was on theater repertoire list for 7 years (1976 -1983) and was shows 185 times in 16 towns and cities of Lithuania as well as in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Tallin and Tartu. The main parties were played by Dalia Storyk, Vladas Bagdonas and Saulius Sipaitis. They participated in all 185 shows as they did not have any doubles. During the years 1976 -1977 there used to shown 10 and more shows a month, sometimes 7 days running, sometimes 3 shows a day. This show was the debut of two professional people – Vytautas Kernagis and Gintarė Jautakaitė. She was a second year piano student at Vilnius Conservatoire. The building of the movie theater „Pergalė“ where the show was re-staged anew by Gytis Padegimas on November 16 2004 has retained the authentic Soviet attribute; buffet, special box for party leaders etc. The song Swallows from the musical that was sung by Andrius Mamontovas and Atlanta won the prize „Bravo 2003“ as the best song of the year 2003. The composer Giedrius Kuprevičius was awarded the „Bravo“ prize for his merits to the pop-culture. Gytis Padegimas had the musical re-staged two more times during 10 years.
