Mission and Vision "Šiaulių "Aušros" Muziejus" embodies living history for the present and future generations. It strives to collect, preserve and promote historical, artistic and technical heritage to help society learn about the past, better understand the present and create the future. The NAM aims to become the best-known and most visited regional museum in the Baltic States, an important cultural attraction attracting 200 000 visitors annually. Values and Operational Objectives "Šiaulių "Aušros" Muziejus" promotes museum ethics, professionalism, competence, cooperation and creativity. The organisation emphasises responsibility, loyalty and teamwork, encouraging innovation and creativity. The main objectives of the museum are to collect, preserve, study and promote the heritage of the North and Central Lithuania region in order to preserve the national cultural identity and to actualize its importance to society. Functions and Activities "Šiaulių "Aušros" Muziejus" carries out a wide range of activities, from collecting and preserving museum treasures to restoring and exhibiting them. The organisation organises permanent exhibitions, temporary exhibitions, educational programmes, participates in cultural tourism and carries out projects for the development of museums and the promotion of culture and tourism. In order to fulfil its mission, the MAM organises conferences, seminars and other events, presents its activities in public and virtual spaces and participates in international networks.
