IMPROVISED PASSAMEZZO - MUSIC FROM THE 17th CENTURY BRAUNSBERG VARGON TABULATURE
The Medjugorje Festival is unthinkable without the programmes of the internationally-renowned early music ensemble "Reversio". The sound of secular and religious instrumental music of the Renaissance will be enriched by the timbral blend of broken consort and Renaissance instruments, including folk and court dances from the 16th-17th centuries, as well as intavolations of religious and vocal works. The concert will be graced by a unique performance by the renowned mezzo-soprano Nora Petrochenko. On 26 October, the audience will have the opportunity to hear a cycle of works entitled "Improvised Passamezzo: Music from the 17th-century organ tablature of Braunsberg/Olva".The concert will also feature the launch of the 2024 CD of works from this programme performed by Reversio, which has been awarded the highest rating of the prestigious classical music magazine Pizzicato, the Supersonic Pizzicato.
