World Music Day will be celebrated in 2023. GOLD DISC winners
On Sunday, October 1, a BIG CELEBRATION OF MUSICIANS is being held at the Palace of the LDK. Inviting to celebrate the World Music Day together, the Lithuanian Musicians' Union will present awards during the celebratory evening and 2023. GOLD DISC laureates. This year they were Aistė Pilibavičiūtė (soprano), Aistė Bružaitė (chankles), Vytis Nivinskas (double bass) and the choir of the National Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis School of Arts, director Romualdas Gražinis.
Since 2001 The award established by the Lithuanian Musicians' Union is awarded every year to four representatives of music from different genres or fields. Among the winners of the "Golden Disk" are Violeta Urmana, David Geringas, Virgilijus Noreika, Antanas Smolskus, Saulius Sondeckis, Petras Bingelis of bright memory. In recent years, singers who have been awarded the LMS prize are Justina Gringytė, Aušrinė Stundytė, Liudas Mikalauskas, Rūta Lipinaitytė, Daumantas Kirilauskas, Renata Marcinkutė-Lesieur, Symphony Orchestra of the Vilnius Bali Dvarion Ten-Year Music School Simfukai, director and conductor Modestas Barkauskas, Boys and Youth Choir Ėuoliukas, director Vytautas Miškinis, Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra, conductor Algimantas Treikauskas, chief conductor Constantine Orbelian (USA), Saulius Petreikis, folk rock group Žalvarinis, KIVI Choir of the Capital Children and Youth Center, conductor Danguolė Aukselienė. At this year's celebration, LMS Honorary member cellist David Geringas, violinist Lina Marija Songailė and harpist Gabrielė Ašmontaitė-Bačkuvienė, Duo Celeste - violinist Lina Marija Songailė and harpist Gabrielė Ašmontaitė-Bačkuvienė, a trio with a unique composition - singer Vismantė Benkunskienė, pianist Gražina Zalatorienė and trombonist Vytautas Pilibavičius will perform alongside the winners of the Golden Disc. There will be a lot of great music from different eras.
