"Musical Visions" is a programme for guitar and piano duet in different contexts and styles, in which the time of reality intertwines with the composers' fantasies, the clear forms of the works are overshadowed by a sense of subtle atmosphere, and the language of each composer is filled with poetry and lightness. The works selected for the programme are like reflections of image, word and feeling. The French composer Maurice Ravel sought to "recreate the poetry of childhood" in his suite The Tales of Mother Goose, while the Italian composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco's musical compositions have an ethereal sense of atmosphere, often employing musical motifs reminiscent of Spanish melodies. The monumental Arpeggione Sonata by Franz Schubert, which will be performed at the end of the concert, will allow the listener to experience and feel a wide range of emotions, from lyrically playful to sensitive and dramatic melodies.
The duo of classical guitar and piano was born out of a desire to touch different types of repertoire and to experience the differences between two incredibly different instruments when performing music together. The Mayan word "táanxel" means "on the other side, from the other side". This name perfectly reflects the identity of the duo, as both members come from different parts of the world. "Duo Táanxel has performed in Lithuania, Sweden, Poland, Spain and Mexico.
The programme the duo chooses to perform highlights the soft, intimate sound of the guitar, accompanied and complemented by the rich accompaniment of the piano.
